Flemington Hallside Parish Church, Cambuslang
FREE
This event, jointly delivered by the local churches and Cambuslang Bereavement Support Group, aims to provide a safe and supportive opportunity for celebration and an expression of feeling, in the company of folk who care. The event is open to anyone who has lost a loved one, whether recently or in the past – and will include reading of names of those who have died, lighting of candles, and a release of beautiful red heart balloons.
Everyone who comes to the event will also receive a sprig of Rosemary to Remember. Last year’s event was attended by over 100 folk, and many felt it had touched a deep place in their heart.
The event brings together people of all ages and from all sectors in society – a recognition that grief really is a shared experience across the community. It also provides an opportunity for the Bereavement Support Group, which offers a weekly drop in service to offer confidential support, to extend its reach and advertise its service. Grief can be a very lonely experience; the Bereavement Support Group shows that sharing the experience with others in the community can really help.
